Experience the rapturous melodies (ragas) of Indian classical music, the sacred mantras and ecstatic chants (bhajans), with singer, harpist and bansuri flautist Sheela Bringi and tabla artist Nabin Shrestha.

Sheela Bringi is a versatile musician with roots in Indian classical and jazz music. Sheela sings and plays the harp and the classical Indian bansuri flute. As a performer and improviser, Sheela has been shaped by her study of the bansuri under Maestro G.S. Sachdev, and her work with diverse artists including Meredith Monk, Cecil Taylor, Aashish Khan and Swapan Chaudhuri. Sheela earned her MFA in Indian music from the California Institute of the Arts. When Sheela is not on the road sharing her unique sound at retreats, festivals, and venues worldwide, she is based in Los Angeles performing and teaching voice, harmonium and bansuri.
