Contact Improvisation (CI) is a dance technique in which points of physical contact provide the starting point for movement improvisation and exploration. 

Connect with yourself, the earth, and others through the intuitive, accessible, & therapeutic movement art of Contact Improvisation.

This is a fun and safe environment for both those brand new to CI as well as those with experience who want to deepen their embodiment of the fundamentals. All classes will support skills to more fully and joyfully inhabit your solo body while improvising in contact with a partner.

We practice these skills in an environment that honors our physical, emotional, and mental boundaries while inviting their expansion. In contact improvisation, we discover the magic that happens through play!

No movement experience necessary

Makenna is an avid movement artist and lover of life and laughter! She shares her love for intuitive movement and partner dance with the aim to connect, support, and inspire those wishing to use their body to move energy and bring joy to their lives.

Makenna came to Contact Improvisation with very little other movement experience and instantly fell in love with this accessible and therapeutic form of dance.  She has taught workshops and classes around the world and is excited to build a community here in Sedona.
