DISRUPTIA - a dance concert

DISRUPTIA is a new, avant-garde dance show presented by local Ashland, Oregon company Tandem Contemporary Dance Collective. A one night only special, the performance is set to premiere January 25, 2025 at the Southern Oregon University Music Recital Hall. This bold and theatrical concert is the company’s third original evening-length work. 

DISRUPTIA is a study on non-conformity. The choreography showcases resilience and individuality of people within the matrix of society. The performance delves into themes of self-acceptance and authenticity amidst the constraints of societal expectation. The grounded athletic movement embodies a spectrum of raw emotion that is both unapologetic and vulnerable. DISRUPTIA navigates listening to one’s intuition amidst the chaos of the modern world and challenges the audience to examine how humanity influences their sense of self. 

The doors will open at 5:30pm for music and mingling. The dance performance will begin just after 6pm with a run time of one hour and fifteen minutes, including a brief intermission. Homemade chai tea will be available for purchase. This exclusive performance promises to be a memorable and inspiring evening, celebrating the power of dance to communicate the unspoken and deeply connect with audiences.
