Event Description

Illness and stress run rampant in our modern world. But our bodies possess the potential to generate a subtle yet powerful protective energy called Wei Qi, or Guardian Qi, to help us deal with life’s challenges. In this workshop, renowned Qigong master, healer, author, and educator Robert Peng will guide students in learning a series of Qigong exercises designed to develop their very own “protective shield” of Guardian Qi.

The workshop will focus on purifying the internal organs through a “steaming” meditation called HuoLuGong. Master Peng will also introduce students to a special practice known as the 4 Cycles, which originated from the fabled Shaolin Temple in China. Legend has it that the great spiritual master Bodhidharma, who first introduced Buddhism in China, taught the 4 Cycles to the Shaolin monks, who had fallen into ill health and physical weakness from excessive sedentary study and meditation. After practicing the 4 Cycles for some time, their bodies grew strong and their minds brighter, which in the end helped their meditation to be richer and more joyful.

Developing and sustaining Guardian Qi yields many benefits, including:

  • Enhancing the immune system

  • Fostering inner resilience to combat mental and emotional stress

  • Increasing calm and confidence

Workshop participants can expect to come away feeling joyful and grounded—mighty with force and clear in mind.

About Robert Peng

Born and raised in Hunan, China, Robert Peng was only eight years old when he began an intensive apprenticeship under the close guidance of the legendary monk Xiao Yao, an enlightened master known for his profound healing ability and martial arts skill.

At age 15, Robert endured a 100-day water fast in a small dark chamber at a secluded monastery in the remote mountains of Hunan province, which initiated a radical spiritual transformation.

Robert has trained hundreds of thousands of students all over China, Australia, the United States, and Europe. A regular presenter at the Omega Institute, Kripalu Center, Open Center, Pacific Institute of Oriental Medicine, and many other organizations and schools, he has evolved a unique way of teaching Qigong that people from different cultures can understand and follow. Robert is the author of The Master Key: Qigong Secrets for Vitality, Love and Wisdom, and the DVD/CD companion series, The Master Key.
