Shantala Concert & Hurricane Relief Fundraiser

For my birthday this year, I wish to celebrate what a joy it is to be here on planet Earth with you. Whether I know you personally, or we are about to meet and become new friends, together let us dance through this life!.

I have turned my upcoming birthday celebration into a fundraiser.....we all deserve clean food, water, and shelter. Last I heard, even after more than a month, Puerto Rico is still 70% without power, and only 25% of the people have drinking water. We can help one another rise again. Let us put the spiritual journey into conscious action of compassion and loving-kindness. You are invited to celebrate life and love!

Let us come together in sacred chant and raise the vibrations of love in our bodies and on the planet, while also making a beautiful, direct difference in the lives of others. 

ALL proceeds from this special gathering will be donated to Direct Relief, World Central Kitchen (Chef Relief), and Global Giving, three incredible, very well researched organizations providing DIRECT help to those affected by the recent hurricanes and earthquake.

Please wear whatever makes you feel the most beautiful, brings out the sparkle in your eyes and puts a spring in your step, and is a celebration of who you uniquely are in the world.

Many of you have already heard their music at our Soul Gatherings and Soul Convergences -- Shantala is one of my favorites. What bliss to have them come back from their India travels to share this special time with us chanting the names of the Divine. Benjy and Heather are warm, funny, sweet beams of light and oh so very talented. Their voices and instruments will transport us all! They are the evening's featured musical guests, along with other fun surprises. 

Benjy and Heather Wertheimer have been leading kirtan (sacred chanting) worldwide since 2001 as the duo Shantala. They are known for their special gift of bringing the audience into a vast and loving experience through their unique blend of exquisite voices with instruments of India and the West. Together they create music with beauty, passion, and reverence. Heather and Benjy have released five beautiful and well-loved albums of sacred chant music since 2003, including Living Waters, Jaya, LIVE in love, Sri, and The Love Window.

Shantala has performed and recorded internationally with such sacred music luminaries as Krishna Das, Deva Premal & Miten, and Jai Uttal. They were named as one of the top Kirtan “Wallahs to Watch” by Yoga + Joyful Living Magazine. Kirtan is a celebration of spirit through the chanting of sacred names, carrying the audience into a state of heightened awareness, bliss, and devotion. The audience is invited to participate fully through call-and-response chanting, dance, and meditation.

Julie Dittmar is an internationally top-selling meditation guide whose work has been featured on PBS. She is a yoga teacher and sound healer who anchors compassionate divine feminine energy through breathwork, heart-opening exercises, chants, movements, and meditations to assist spiritual seekers in remembering their true nature.

Her playful, joyful approach inspires living more fully in the body and in a more expressive, open, free, and loving way.
