Sometimes in life you just gotta roll with the punches. Last night I was surprised to discover that my friend (and Kirtan Leader Institute student) Danny Balgooyen was also booked to share an event this Saturday night at Nevei Kodesh.



 

This was quite a conundrum... and here's how we're making lemonade out of lemons.



 

First, we will reschedule this Saturday's Kirtan event. If you've purchased a ticket we will honor your ticket at our next event on Saturday, December 9 at Nevei Kodesh.

Finally the lemonade... we're looking to partner with Danny for a Kirtan Dance Party in the new year. This will be a lot of fun! Stay tuned for details.



 

I apologize for the confusion. The cool thing is that we'll offer Kirtan twice in December. Come join us December 3 (Vali Soul with Bhakti Shakti) and December 9 at Nevei Kodesh. I hope you'll join us at one or both of these events to open your heart and sing your prayers in community.

Mike released four critically acclaimed Kirtan albums Om Dattatreya (2009), Soul Contact (2012), Illumination (2016) and Chants for Challenging Times (2020), the last two albums with Grammy nominated producer Ben Leinbach. He has shared Kirtan for well over a decade across North America, offering accessible and potent Kirtan events in yoga studios, healing centers and at yoga/chant festivals. Mike was honored to lead Kirtan immediately before the legendary Krishna Das at 2015 Bhakti Fest Midwest.

Mike is founder of Kirtan Leader Institute where he has trained and apprenticed thousands of aspiring Kirtan Leaders since 2010. Mike has taught beginning through advanced students, and has guided many of his students to build thriving chant communities and write compelling original music. A marker of success is that KLI runs online group classes, self- guided classes, and in person intensives (in Boulder, CO) throughout the year, and 20 of KLI's students and alumni have released professional recordings of their original chants.
