INVESTMENT: $35 through 6pm on March 9th, $45 at the door. Kids 12 and under are free.

ABOUT KIRTAN WITH MIKE COHEN & THE SHAKTI GROOVE

Formed in 2016, this high-energy Kirtan band features three outstanding chant leaders (Mike Cohen, Dawnia Dresser, and Michele Heaphy), who lead original chants, and have collectively released four albums and two EP's of original, accessible sacred chant music. A collection of accomplished Boulder, Colorado-based musicians, the Shakti Groove blends masculine and feminine energies with devotion and prayer to lift the spirit and awaken the soul. Their effervescent style brings brightness and warmth to energize and nourish the body. This is truly Music for Your Soul.

This group has played at numerous Kirtan & Yoga Festivals (Bhakti Fest, Telluride Yoga Festival, Hanuman Festival, and more), regularly tours Colorado, and teaches hundreds of students annually through their Kirtan Leader Institute (see below). Mike Cohen has released four critically acclaimed Kirtan albums Om Dattatreya (2009), Soul Contact (2012),  Illumination (2016) and Chants for Challenging Times (2020), the last two albums with Grammy nominated producer Ben Leinbach. For close to two decades Mike has shared his brand of accessible & potent sacred chant across North America. ABOUT ECSTATIC DANCE WITH DANNY BALGOOYEN 

Ecstatic Dance is a free form dance meditation that encourages you to express oneself through movement with the support of an intentionally curated musical journey. Ecstatic Dance provides a safe space to embark on a journey designed to encourage deeper connection with ourselves and others. Interaction and connection on the dance floor is encouraged with and intention to practice consent and attunement. 

Principles and Values of Space:

- Drug and alcohol free

- Sacred dance floor

- Judgment and expectation free zone with full inclusivity.

- Encouraging the practice of attunement to self, your physical space & other dancers.

- Full permission to feel, express and embody your emotions.

- Respectful honoring of your own and other dancer’s boundaries and personal space

- Focused non-verbal connection (no talking)

- Consensual. If it’s not a clear yes, it’s a no.

- Free of phones and cameras in the dance space. In other areas, keep them off or in airplane mode.

- Free of heavy perfumes or oils. Please practice body hygiene when you come to dance.

- Free of shoes

ABOUT DANNY BALGOOYEN

Danny is a conscious event producer, breathworker, DJ, dance facilitator and connection creator. Co-founder of Boulder Ecstatic Dance, Inner Light Revival Breathwork and previously Dance Meets Tantra. He devotes himself to creating safe and inspiring experiences that invite deeper and more authentic expressions of ourselves. Danny has been offering curated events, workshops, parties and retreats for the last 8 years with much success. He has been deeply committed to building and deepening community in Boulder, Co where he is known for his facilitation, leadership and event coordination.

- There are no refunds.

- Tickets are transferrable to another participant in advance of the event. If you want to transfer a ticket you are responsible for finding the buyer.

- We will not be able to respond to any questions about ticketing or participation during the 24 hours before the start of the event.
