Join us friends for an incredible night of Open Heart Kirtan with Kavita Kat Macmillan and master tabla player Daniel Paul. Kavita is thrilled to offer a home-town kirtan with tabla master Daniel Paul on this night of Diwali, the Indian festival of lights as part of their October Pacific Northwest tour.

 

Collaborating now for the past few years Kavita and Daniel bring a warm and soulful magic to their Kirtan offerings together filled with great musicianship and so much heart! .  We will light the candles to celebrate this turn of the season and the triumph of light over darkness with a special Diwali mandala altar made by local artist Toni Pahr.  Kavita and Daniel will be joined by guest instrumentalist and vocalist Alex Milstead and guest instrumentalist Dave Hoover (also from Portland, Oregon ) plus other local musicians tba.

Daniel Paul is an India Fulbright Award winning tabla drummer and graduate of the Ali Akbar College of Music who for more than two decades has been on the front lines of the international kirtan chanting movement as a singing tabla drummer to many of today's top kirtan singers including Grammy nominee Jai Uttal, Gina Sala, Snatam Kaur and Dave Stringer to name a few. www.tabladaniel.com
