Join Grammy-winning pianist/composer, Peter Kater, and virtuoso violinist, Don Lax for an intimate Holiday Concert at Peter’s home on Maui. Lie under Peter’s piano as he and Don play their beautifully rich and evocative music, improvised right there, just for you. Doors open at 7pm. The 90-minute concert starts right at 7:30pm. From 9pm till 10pm join Peter and Don for an intimate reception with wine and sake and some yummy light snacks.

Don V. Lax has been playing violin since the age of 5. His music is influenced by a background of classical training in European conservatories, combined with multi-cultural and musical experiences ranging from Indian raga to Italian progressive rock. His empathy and deep spiritual practice open the way for spontaneous creativity to respond in the moment to each musician and audience with whom he’s interacting. “I play music from the heart. Whether it’s Bach or Rock, Gypsy or Jazz. What I want to convey is the passion underlying the notes - the soul of the music.“

Grammy Winning/Multi-Platinum selling Pianist/Composer Peter Kater has been a leading innovator of contemporary instrumental music for over 3 decades. He’s received many awards and accolades for his rich and diverse music including 13 Grammy Award nominations. A prolific composer, he’s released over 70 critically acclaimed recordings and has scored the music for over 100 television and film productions including 11 On & Off-Broadway dramatic plays. From solo piano and contemporary jazz ensembles to full orchestral works his music is heard all over the world crossing many genres from the Olympics, the Kennedy Center and Carnegie Hall to the treatment rooms of hundreds of thousands massage and healing practitioners. He is known for his many groundbreaking collaborations with musicians such as Native American flutist R. Carlos Nakai; Sting guitarist Dominic Miller and Sacred Chantress Snatam Kaur and archival songstress, Peia Luzzi. And as avid environmentalist and humanitarian Peter is a proud recipient of the Environment Leadership Award from the United Nations.
