Join Sean Johnson & The Wild Lotus Band for a soul-stirring evening of ancient mantras given new voice through dynamic songs that merge New Orleans roots, rock, gospel, and world grooves. The trio's latest album Unity debuted #1 on the iTunes World Music Chart and #3 on Billboard. Their music has appeared on several Putumayo World Music compilations, and they are the first kirtan-based band to ever play The New Orleans Jazz Festival.



Merge the heart-opening qualities of bhakti yoga with the sensuality and vitality of asana. This deep and playful all-levels practice includes storytelling from the mythical world of yoga, kirtan, graceful vinyasa sequences, imaginative meditations, and evocative live music. Some experience with yoga is recommended. Sean and the band have guided this workshop at festivals and conferences across the country including sold-out attendance at The Yoga Journal Conference and Bhakti Fest.



New Orleans' Sean Johnson & The Wild Lotus Band (Alvin Young and Gwendolyn Colman) are regarded as one of the guiding voices of kirtan music in America - a genre of spiritual music that originates in the yoga traditions of India and is being reinvented by a growing number of western artists. Sean, Alvin, and Gwendolyn put a New Orleans and American stamp on kirtan by merging ancient mantras with rock, roots, gospel, and world grooves. 


Over 15 years ago Sean founded his Wild Lotus Yoga studio in New Orleans, which has become known around the world for heart-centered and down to earth spirituality yoga.  Wild Lotus does this through including a combination of yoga postures, breathing practices, meditation, mantras, music, readings, poems, stories, philosophy is all woven together to inspire living a more vivid life.
